About the Exhibition|
Shoebox sculpture, as the name suggests, is a three-dimensional artwork in a miniaturized format. These small-scale pieces are designed to be easily manipulated by the fingertips, much like ornamental objects once favored by royalty. Typically, miniature sculptures serve as scaled-down versions created during an artist’s conceptual phase, capturing the original spark of creativity and intent. With its intimate size and micro-scale space, miniature sculpture allows viewers to observe the nuances of form, material, and design. These works are not merely reduced models of large-scale sculptures; they carry distinct meanings and concepts that stand on their own. Without the structural limitations of large works, miniature sculpture offers a unique platform for artistic expression.
